Time and I shared 14 years here

The sand between our toes weathering out the storms, sharing sunsets as we danced barefoot

Nothing is left

Not a starfish, not a sandcastle in sight

With a wave of her hand Tide erased any trace

Of our love affair

But I can feel their ghosts

Murmurs of once upon a time

Did any of it even matter?

Sun seers his white light warming me up from head to toe

Hair twirls her way around my fingers

And I’m thirsty

For cleansing, for healing

Moon patiently waits for her turn

To wonder into Night’s sky

Forever echoing my questions

Who am I?

Who am I….

And why do I care so much

I curse the stars for lighting up the dark

Just enough to keep me here

Hope twinkles in the peripheral

As long as I don’t look

Teasing with winks across the surf

Twilight is where everything becomes possible…..

Sincerely,

Shipwrecked
